• The authors of the series created Rumpelstiltskin thinking about Robert Carlyle.
• The name Mary Margaret was not invented, she really existed, she was born in 1729 in germany. It is believed that she was the inspiration for Snow White's tale.
• The name Regina in Latin means queen.
• The creators offered the role of Blue Fairy for Lady GaGa but she did not respond.
• Part of the series was filmed in Vancouver, Canada.
